Natasha and I both agree that without your efforts and commitment to the design and build and in particular to get us in here by the Xmas milestone we would not have the great outcome we have had.
Throughout the entire process we were always made to feel like it was our house and nothing was too much of a problem, any small change or request seemed to be dealt with seamlessly. I'm sure it took some doing in the background. The advice we received in response to our questions about how things might be done, or what materials could be used was invaluable from everyone in your team.
Like us everyone who has come through our house has loved the result.

We engaged Rilean Construction (Canterbury) to complete the earthquake repairs and strengthening under the direction of Fraser Thomas structural consulting engineers.
We have been very impressed with all aspects of the work. The job commenced on the appointed day and was completed within the set timeframe.
The organisation, contract supervision and communications were excellent. The standard and quality of work completed by their contractors was excellent and more than met the requirements of the consulting engineers who were supervising the work.
Based on our experience we have no hesitation in recommending Rilean Construction.

From the start of my journey to build my new home, Trevor has basically walked me through the process from finding an architect, the building concept, to finalising with the insurance company the building contract.
Within two weeks of signing the contract I received a comprehensive building timetable for the build which the team has met.
I am very happy with the high standard of the build to date, receiving regular updates with open and honest communication.

After a very frustrating 2 ½ years after the Feb 2011 earthquake, during which the insurance company appeared to do very little, it was a pleasure to start work with Trevor Meikle and his team at Rilean. Once engaged, Trevor moved ahead at a cracking pace. He worked well with our architect, despite the complications of rebuilding two separate units (and therefore two owners and two insurance companies) in the same building. We were kept informed at all times of critical deadlines, and Trevor made himself available to smooth the way at those times. His advice was always sound. Overall the quality of the rebuild is very high. We have no hesitation in recommending Rilean and Trevor Meikle's team.

Rilean Construction (Christchurch) was engaged in the construction of my new build on a steep site in Mt Pleasant, Christchurch. I had heard that Rilean had considerable experience building on hill sites and this proved to be true.

This was not my first experience in building and being familiar with the design and build process through architectural studies, it was important from my perspective to engage a builder who was not only willing to communicate along the way but also had the ability to complete a quality build. Rilean offered on both counts and beyond.

Rilean from the start set a realistic and definitive timeline for the build and it was obvious from the start that they had a very good relationship with their sub-contractors who were well informed and time coordinated. This meant the build was constantly moving forward and consequently ensured there was no down time. Schedules were continually adjusted if and when needed to again ensure the timeline was closely adhered to. I was always informed of what was happening throughout the build and also informed if changes were made in the schedule and why they occurred.

Trevor Meikle and Aaron Brown at Rilean would always consult me if there were decisions that needed to be made outside of the initial brief and if different to the schedule and if I were to request changes with regard to materials or products it was never a problem. Matt Winefield who was foreman on the site was very approachable and incredibly accommodating and again if a request was made it was never an issue and was dealt with in haste. Rilean’s ability to then communicate with outside sources; architect, sub-contractors and insurance company was professional and flawless.

Rilean have an eye for detail and their quality of finishing was to the very highest standard. They take pride in their work and I would most definitely engage Rilean again if I were to build in the future.

Our build was a rebuild and we had to wait 4 years for the insurer to finally give us the green light.
As a hill build, the first step was being given 4 other companies as recommendations by the insurance company that they had previously worked with. After exploring what they had to offer, we decided to go looking for our own. One that would be more aligned with what we saw as the vision for our new home.
We were more than happy to have found Rilean and in particular Trevor as we quickly clicked.
Once the actual build started we got to meet more of their team, the loss adjustor Aaron and on site builders such as Simon.
These guys become an important part of our weekly visits and phone calls.
Nothing fazed them and they were always available on site, by phone and email.
They treated my house build like I imagine they would treat their own.
Workmanship was great and my changes mid build (and there were a few) were always met with a professional chat and meeting for them to understand what I had changed my mind to. Then they would work through with me to ensure it was practical and possible.
We are so happy with our finished home and would be more than happy for anyone to visit to help make their mind up to go ahead with Rilean.
They were always professional, friendly and looked after my house until it became our home !!

Working with the team from Rilean Construction made the process of my rebuild journey less stressful.
Consultation from Trev and his team was a priority throughout the whole process. From these discussions they were able to establish what worked in my previous home and combine any improvements within the policies of the rebuild. A very high standard of Leadership and workmanship was kept at all times in all areas.
Because of the above and more, I now have a home that wraps around me that I feel safe in knowing the best team built it for me. One very proud homeowner.

I have now been in my new home for 2 months, 6 weeks ahead of schedule thanks to you and your hardworking team. I am loving it.

I appreciate your professional, perfectionist approach, and even now you are still fine-tuning things with a gracious attitude even if it must be frustrating fixing things that weren't of your making.
I also like the way you are loyal to your sub-contractors who in turn, return the favour, which is probably another reason the place was finished early despite the crazy Christmas break looming.

The integrity, skill, and cheerfulness of your workers is another reason I would, (and have), recommend you to anyone looking for a building firm.

Simon, your foreman, is just great! What an asset he is. He may be tired and at the end of a long day when he should be home with his family, but I, and others, always get the feeling that 'The Client' needs to be listened to - he is prepared to do little fiddly things that would take us hours! And that Jesse, what a character. Such good value, a good boss knows how to choose and build a good team. So that speaks for itself.

I would also like to thank Jennifer for her quiet, competent and patient handling of the many phone calls, queries and frustrations that not only I had, but the 7 others in the block. How she managed to get everyone sorted, pacified and satisfied is a mystery to me. Thank you Jennifer for putting my mind at ease when things needed sorting.

Andy, was always spot on with calculating betterment costs and so there were no nasty surprises. I believe I have done extremely well, with a house and extras that I would never have been able to afford without this rebuild.

Finally please pass my appreciation and thanks to other workers and your regular contractors involved in this rebuild. Will be in touch for my next 'mansion'!

We would like to express our absolute gratitude and thanks for the manner in which the construction of the newly completed group of 8 units in Andover Street, Christchurch, was carried out by the Rilean Construction team.

From the outset Trevor Meikle was exemplary in his professionalism and attitude towards us .He was always available to answer any queries we had and nothing appeared to be too hard or too much trouble. If he could not give an immediate answer he researched the matter and resolved the problem amicably and rapidly. We never ceased to be amazed at his knowledge of the construction industry and the options that were available for him to action. His happy and genial disposition made the construction journey easy for us and we often reflected on how lucky we were to have Trevor and Rilean as our construction company.

We have always known that a team is led from the top and this was clearly visible with Trevor through the office staff, foreman , carpenters, and the management of his sub contractors. Any onsite queries were discussed and dealt with with prompt courtesy and in a professional manner.
Our building site was always kept clean and tidy at the end of each day and we are sure Health and Safety never had any issues to disrupt the build. This was clearly evident in the monthly reports to all owners from the project manager culminating in bringing the construction process to completion and handing over the keys to the owners 2 months ahead of schedule - a situation unheard in the present Christchurch building environment.

We would be in absolutely no doubt that we would use Rilean Construction again if ever the need arose and we would be more than happy to enlarge on this reference verbally with anyone who is planning a construction project in the future.

Our apartment has been finished to standard that we consider to be truly outstanding and are very proud to show it to our friends and to recommend the Rilean Construction name to others.

Everything at Hurley St seems to be going incredibly well. Every person I am in contact with at Rilean have been absolutely fantastic to deal with.

From the office staff to all the builders I can say that they are all showing incredible professionalism, consideration, skill, and promptness.

I very much appreciate the care and attention they are putting in and their fantastic ability to include me in issues that arise from time to time.

They have also been very approachable and flexible allowing us to do such things as remove another tree on site, view progress, and allow other contractors on site to provide quotes for me.
