Benmore Dam

Rilean Construction were awarded the carpentry, suspended ceilings and the Gib lining trades for the NZ Inter Island HVDC Pole 3 upgrade Project in Benmore which is carried out by Mainzeal Construction.   

The works include a 3800m2 by 20m high building to house 3 x 250 ton transformers, 3 x 20m high thyristor valves, control room and extensive switching yard and filter bank.

The site is now well into construction with bulk excavation, foundations and slab complete and work under way on the interior framing.
